about my art

I approach drawing not as preparation but as a primary practice in its own right. Working with graphite and charcoal on archival paper, my drawings exist in a charged space between memory, abstraction, and figuration, where images emerge gradually through the accumulation of marks.

Each work is constructed from thousands of straight lines that build dense fields of light and dark. Up close, the marks appear restless and frenetic; from a distance they cohere into forms that suggest landscapes, structures, and human presence. Through this process, the image develops slowly, allowing space, depth, and atmosphere to arise from the tension between control and spontaneity.

Through drawing, I investigate how images take form from the gradual accumulation of line, hovering between abstraction and representation.
